A church that is safe for all

Our activities must be safe for all, with safeguarding policies and practices that promote a safer church. We take safeguarding seriously and are always seeking to review our systems to ensure that we are appropriately monitoring issues as they arise.

Safeguarding training

If you hold a role in church where you may be expected to have contact with children, young people or vulnerable adults you need to undertake safeguarding training, even if you have already had safeguarding training in your workplace.

The first safeguarding module is available online:

  • Basic Safeguarding Training (C0) can be accessed on Church of England's Safeguarding Portal. Create a new account, complete the online training and email your certificate to our admin email.

  • Foundation (C1) and Leadership (C2) training is available in person and online.  If relevant to your role in the church, you will be invited to undergo that training.

If you have any queries about safeguarding training, please email Anne Dorman.
